Greenwich Crew was mentioned in two newspapers this week (October 17, 2011), the Greenwich Time and the Stamford Advocate.

Greenwich Crew started the 2011 Fall racing season off strong at the Head of
the Passaic Regatta on Saturday, October 15th.  The junior crew took home
the gold in four races as well as several other top five finishes.  This
strong performance earned Greenwich the highest number of points of all
thirty-three competing crews.

In the first race of the day, Greenwich Crew won the gold in the Men's Youth
8+ with a finishing time of 15:28.83. (Mallory Madfes, Oliver Grueterich,
Will Cecio, Timmy Wyle, Vaughan Merrick, Trevor Frey, John Oswald, Paul
Singer, Chris Warner.) Greenwich boats C and B took third and fourth place
in the event with the times of 16:24.35 and 16:27.15 (Boat C: Kat Aiello,
Daniel Beinstein, Albert Rydevik, Luke Cochran, August Allocco, Nick Klamka,
Wit Geffs, Spencer Heim, Matt Lattarulo)(Boat B: Sam Savitz, Lucas
Colagrossi, Herbie Marache, James Yoon, George Miller, Eric Anderson, Travis
Anderson, Justin Lee, Will Bass)

In the Women's Youth 8+, Greenwich took home the gold with the time of
16:35.08.  (Guilia Volterra, Chelsea Oarr, Nicole Birkhold, Megan Slabbert,
Olivia Thalheim, Hannah Balikci, Alex Slabbert, Gillian Burke, Whitney
Lees.) Greenwich's B and C boats finished fourth and fifth in the event with
times of 18:38.69 and 19:10.48.  (Boat B: Clara Perez, Kate Cooper, Brakeley
Bryant, Tayla Daniel, Astrid Blomgren, Victoria Meskers, Zoe Ng, Hanna
Bayer, Jenn Whitehill) (Boat C: Jessie Grossman, Lizzy Rasa Di Sant, Kara
Cracraft, Phoebe Donaldson, Treasure Pray, Nicola Traynor, Elana Weinstein,
Anna Svedin, Isabel Meskers)

The Women's Novice 8+ also finished first in their race with a time of
21:26.61.  (Janine Jay, Katie Polan, Estie Forstbauer, Izzy Parker, Emma
Gilson, Isabelle Myers, Antonia Lycouris, Maggie Keatinge, Jane Weiss)

Hannah Balikci and Tayla Daniel finished first in the Women's 2x with a time
of 18:34.57 to give Greenwich Crew their fourth gold medal win of the day.

Greenwich Crew travels next weekend to the prestigious Head of the Charles
Regatta in Boston to compete in the Women's Youth 2x and Men's Youth 2x.
