Code of Conduct


Greenwich Crew Athletes must exhibit sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play whenever representing Greenwich Crew, both at practices and regattas.  Athletes must be respectful of visiting teams, officials, teammates and parents and must abide by the following code of conduct:



PUNCTUALITY  - Athletes need to be on time for all practices, games and team functions 

ATTITUDE & RESPECT - Team members should always show respect for, be considerate of, and display a positive attitude towards teammates, coaches, parents and opposing players

CONDUCT - Team members should conduct themselves in a proper and well-behaved manner while in uniform and during all team functions.

EMOTIONS - Team members should always control emotions and display good sportsmanship.  No profanity; no arguing with teammates, coaches, or opponents; no negative remarks to teammates, coaches or opponents.

PARTICIPATION - Team members are expected to participate in all practices, regattas, and team functions unless prior approval is received from the coach.  If an athlete can not attend practice, he/she or parents are expected to call the coach by 12:00 pm of the day the athlete expects to be absent.

DRUGS, ALCOHOL AND CIGARETTES - The use or possession of non-prescription drugs, alcohol or cigarettes by any team member or coach while in uniform or representing the team in any manner is strictly prohibited.

PENALTY - Failure to comply with the above rules may result in suspension or removal from the team.
